It is important for employees to feel that they're rewarded fairly for the work they’re asked to do. We carry out job evaluations and salary and benefit benchmarking for clients, to ensure that their employees are remunerated fairly within a consistent and coherent structure, and in line with comparable employees in comparable organisations. We also regularly work with clients to help them put in place appraisal systems (the “what” employees are required to do) and competency frameworks (the “how” they’re required to do it). This ensures that staff are clear as to what is expected of them, and that they’re measured fairly against their peers.

Job Evaluation

Job evaluation is a systematic approach to measuring the relative size and significance of different roles within an organisation, considering a range of different components or factors. We have significant experience in carrying out job evaluations in a wide variety of industries and sectors. Our independence and specialist expertise gives our clients the peace of mind that any job evaluation exercise we carry out will be systematic, robust and defensible.

Salary and Benefit Benchmarking

We maintain a comprehensive database of salaries and other benefits across a wide range of industry sectors. We assist clients to benchmark their current arrangements against their peer group, and we assist clients to develop competitive reward packages that allow them to attract and retain the best people.

Performance Appraisal Systems

Performance appraisal systems can be an important tool in managing staff, but it is vital that they’re user friendly and that staff are trained to utilise them properly. We have developed our own proprietary performance appraisal system which has been tried and tested and widely adopted by a range of clients. We have also developed a participative training module for both the person conducting the appraisal and the person being appraised, to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the process, and that it has a genuine value and meaning.

Competency Frameworks

Competency frameworks are a method by which organisations can define the skills and behaviours that are most important and valuable to them. They also provide a systematic way to explain and measure the level of performance that it expected at each stage of seniority throughout the organisation. We have extensive experience of working with a wide range of organisations from different sectors to develop competency frameworks that are user friendly and meet the specific need.   We can then link the competency framework into a performance appraisal process used to assess performance, generally on a half or full year basis.
